Outdoors
For the casual nature observer, a trip to Red Rock State Park might be in order. With its short hiking trails and picnic spots, the park offers great views with minimal exertion. Due to the many scenic views that are virtually inaccessible to private vehicles due to unpaved trails and steep inclines, a number of day trip companies offer tours of the surrounding desert. Go off-road with Pink Jeep Tours or sky-high with Arizona Helicopter Adventures.

Culture
Though the natural beauty of Sedona is entrancing, break away long enough to see the artistic interpretations of the landscape that pack the town's art galleries. Bring home a piece of the beauty with artworks from the Tlaquepaque gallery complex or one of the many other art galleries that fill up the downtown area. Also make sure to check out the architecture of the town with its heavily Southwestern influenced styles. One of the most distinctive buildings stands on the outskirts of town: the Chapel of the Holy Cross which looks almost like it grew out of the surrounding rock instead of being built into it.
